Greetings to our sheep, update

August 11, 2011

Greetings to our Sheep Update.
It has come to our attention that some of you have developed characteristics
somewhat foreign to the meek, benign and docile reputation you Sheep have
exhibited for so long.
Reports have reached us that some of you are straying off, ignoring your kindly Shepherd. Even the sheep dogs we provided to watch over you, guide you and protect you are being attacked by some ungrateful and angry sheep.

This situation is incomprehensible and cannot be tolerated. Beginning immediately we have instructed the Wool Gathering Dept. to replace the nice, loving, caring sheep dogs with pit bulls specifically trained to “gather in the strays”, so to speak.

Also, we will be tripling the number of shepherds and change the wool shearing schedule from monthly to bi-weekly. Tripling the shepherds will help reduce the un-employment rate which is good. Unfortunately, we have to have more wool to pay them.
Always remember, your benevolent FG knows what is best for you. We are all wise, all knowing, all caring, and compassionate.

Greetings to the Sheep

August 9, 2011

Greetings to our Sheep from your beloved and benevolent Federal Government.
As you know, or should know because we say it over and over again, we, your friendly Federal Government, are all wise, all knowing, all caring, and compassionate.

You, our loyal and obedient Sheep, are always on our minds. We think about you day and night and we are continually focused on ways to make your wool grow faster. With all the benefits we are providing for you, we need more and more wool.

We know it has been unsettling for you since we changed shearing from a semi-annual to a quarterly event, but , as we said, these benefits do not come without a cost. Consequently, we are forced to alter the schedule once again.

Beginning immediately, shearing will be done monthly. You have been so loyal and obedient since we began all these benefit programs back in the 1930’s, we know you will understand.
So get out there, take your medicine, and grow your wool faster. We really need the wool and you are our only source since our China imports have dried up.

The dog in humans

The dog in humans.

Dogs can be wonderful pets and bring much joy to their owners. They truly are man’s best friend. And they can be his protector, and his companion.
They can be trained to hunt, to play games, and an eye seeing dog is indispensable to a blind person.
Most dogs love bones. Show a dog a bone and he will bark, jump up and down, and beg. He leaves no doubt that he really wants that bone.
Now when you give the dog the bone , he may chew on it for hours and you see happiness personified.
Now the dog has the bone, the bone is his. He owns it. You can’t have it back.
If you try to take the bone away, suddenly the dog is no longer your friend. He is your enemy and he will fight you with all his might to retain possession of the bone. He completely forgets that just a short will before he was begging you for the bone.
I guess this is the HUMAN nature in the dog. I look at what is happening in Wisconsin, Ohio, and other places and I think about the dog. It appears that humans are just like the dog. The employer (owner) has been feeding them bones (money) for a long time and they all wagged their tails happily.
Suddenly the bone market is drying up and the owner needs to retrieve some of the bones from the humans to pay some bills.
The humans now become the enemy and start fighting to save their bones. It is not as though they won’t still have ample bones to chew on. It is just the fact---”These bones are mine, mine, mine. You gave them to me and you can’t have the back!!!!”
It is the DOG nature coming out in humans. Sad.

1.15.2011
I noticed today that BP has become partners with Russia to drill in the barren icelands of Northern Russia (Similar to Alaska).
Because of that I thought it would be interested to re-post a blog from last June.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Fresh from admonishing BP before the world, President Barack Obama now gets his moment with the oil company's leaders. It will be on his turf and, he vowed to an angry nation, on his terms.

"We will make BP pay for the damage their company has caused,"Obama declared in his first Oval Office address, a venue often reserved for matters of war.
